Atlanta authorities mistakenly arrested rapper T.I. on Sunday, confusing him with another individual. Clifford Harris Jr., known by his stage name T.I., was taken into custody on a fugitive from justice charge at around 4:30 p.m. at the Clayton County Jail. He was subsequently released shortly before 6:30 p.m., according to court records obtained by USA TODAY.
According to the reality TV star's attorney Steve Sadow, the arrest warrant was initially intended for a different Clifford Harris from Maryland, who was accused of violence towards a woman, such as stalking and potentially carrying a gun. This information was first reported by TMZ.

Cornell Haynes II, also known as Nelly, a 49-year-old rapper famous for "Hot in Here," was taken into custody at 4:45 a.m. for possession of four ecstasy pills, a controlled substance, and for driving without insurance, as per state patrol documents.
He was subsequently transferred to the Maryland Heights Police Department, where he was apprehended due to an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court related to a traffic violation in a St. Louis suburb, the police department announced on Wednesday.
